The work I have submitted are all projects and personal work that I have done over the past 3 years of my education. The first piece I have submitted is for a Visual Arts competition I am partaking in with Burton and South Derbyshire College called ‘Young Creative Chevrolet’ it’s for a T-shirt design and the theme is to portray the phrase ‘make it happen’ and ‘attitude you can wear’ I wasn’t sure what approach to take so I decided to be adventurous and base it around an illustrative and a very abstract theme which is something I rarely tend to do.
I enjoy branding and identity which is one of my favourite fields of Graphic Design, I decided to include a Majority of this field of Design to portray how I’ve developed over the last three years of my education in Graphic Design, which has also led me to experimentation with type and I am currently enjoying making my own fonts.
The Information Graphics piece is a personal favourite of mine, I was able to experiment with it and I was extremely pleased with the outcome. The main media I used to achieve this was cutting and pasting with coloured card which I found extremely beneficial to my development.
I also have experience with Fine Art after a one year course, this included; woodwork, painting, textiles and Ceramics.
I am looking to enrol onto your course at Manchester Metropolitan University  because I think it’s a fantastic university with a great reputation and I would be extremely proud to be part of that, I was very impressed with what I found on the open day and it filled me with ambition and inspiration. I love Manchester as a place; my musical taste very much revolves around the City and I would take great pride and passion onto the course if I were considered.
